Canyon Country Lodge Policies

Canyon Country Lodge is independently owned and operated. We aim to provide every guest with a clean, comfortable, and safe experience. Please review the following policies to ensure a smooth stay.

🚭 Non-Smoking Policy

Canyon Country Lodge is a 100% smoke-free property in accordance with the Utah Clean Air Act. This includes all guest rooms, indoor areas, and shared spaces.

A $250 smoking fee will be charged for any smoking, vaping, or combusting of any substance inside guest rooms. This includes but is not limited to tobacco, cannabis, e-cigarettes, incense, and open flame candles. Additional charges may apply if deep cleaning or deodorizing is required.

Smoking is permitted only in designated outdoor areas.

The smoking policy applies to all guests and visitors. Violations can result in eviction without a refund.

💳 Payment Policy

We’re committed to making your stay as smooth and stress-free as possible, starting with the booking process. To help us prepare for your arrival and hold your room, here’s what to expect:

  • A $50 non-refundable deposit is charged when you make your reservation
  • The remaining balance is collected at check-in, so you can settle in right away.
  • We gladly accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. Cash payments are welcome at check-in, but a valid credit or debit card must be on file for incidentals or damages.
  • If you're using a debit card, please note that banks may place a temporary hold on your account. These holds are outside our control and may take a few days to clear after final payment processing.

By booking, you authorize Canyon Country Lodge to charge the full cost of your stay if the cancellation policy isn’t met or in the event of a no-show.

⏰ Checkout Policy

We work hard to make sure every guest arrives to a clean, ready room. That’s why we have a clear and consistent checkout process in place:

  • Check-out time is 11:00 AM on the day of departure.
  • We’re unable to offer late checkouts, even by request, due to same-day room turnover needs and high guest volume.
  • Guests who check out after 11:00 AM may be charged an additional night’s stay plus tax to the credit card on file.
  • Need more time in Escalante? We’d love to host you longer. Please contact the front desk as early as possible to request a stay extension, based on availability and current rates.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation; it helps us maintain a smooth experience for every guest checking in after you.

❌ Cancellation & Modification Policy

We understand that plans can change, and we do our best to accommodate every guest. To keep things fair for all travelers and ensure we can provide great service, we follow a consistent cancellation and modification policy:

  • All cancellations or changes, including early checkouts, date changes, or shortening your stay, must be made at least 72 hours prior to 3:00 PM (Mountain Time - Utah) on your scheduled arrival date.
  • A $50 non-refundable deposit is collected at the time of booking and will not be returned under any circumstances.
  • Cancellations made within 72 hours of your scheduled arrival will be charged the full cost of the reservation to the credit card on file.
  • Changes made within 72 hours of arrival may result in additional charges or fees, which will be collected at the time the reservation is modified.
  • This policy applies regardless of the reason, including weather, illness, or emergencies.
  • Requests to extend your stay are welcome and treated as new reservations; based on availability and current rates.

These cancellation and modification policies ensure we serve all guests reliably and with care.

🐾 Pet Policy

To ensure a clean, comfortable environment for all guests, Canyon Country Lodge maintains a no-pet policy.

  • Pets are not allowed anywhere on the property, including in guest rooms, common areas, or vehicles parked on-site.
  • A $250 cleaning fee will be charged to the credit card on file if a pet is brought into any room. Additional cleaning costs will be charged to the card on file.
  • This policy helps us maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and accommodate guests with allergies or sensitivities.
  • We are proud to welcome guests and their service animals, in full accordance with ADA guidelines. Please note that emotional support animals (ESAs) and therapy animals are not permitted on the property or in guest rooms.

If you need help finding local boarding options or pet-friendly accommodations nearby, our front desk is happy to assist.

🌐 Third-Party Booking Policy

We’re happy to welcome guests who book through travel agents, online travel agencies (OTAs), and other third-party platforms. To ensure transparency and a smooth experience, please review the following guidelines:

  • A valid credit or debit card is required at check-in for all third-party bookings, even if payment has already been made. This card is used to cover incidentals, damages, or additional charges not included in the original booking.
  • Room rates, discounts, and fees negotiated by third-party providers are confidential. Our staff is unable to match, confirm, explain, or adjust rates set by outside agencies.
  • Changes or cancellations must be made directly through the platform or agent you originally booked with. Our front desk cannot modify third-party reservations, including dates, guest names, or room types.
  • Requests for early check-in, late checkout, or room upgrades are based on availability and may not always be accommodated for third-party bookings or status programs.
  • Guests who book through third parties are still required to follow all hotel policies, including payment, smoking, and pet policies.

For the most flexible and personalized experience, we always recommend booking directly through Canyon Country Lodge.

♿ Accessibility Policy

Canyon Country Lodge is committed to providing a welcoming and comfortable experience for all of our guests. We recognize that each traveler’s needs are different, and we’re here to help.

  • The building does not have an elevator. If you prefer or need to avoid stairs, please call to request a ground-floor room when booking.
  • Accessible parking is available near the main entrance.

If you have specific questions or accessibility needs, please reach out to us before your arrival — we’re here to help make your stay as comfortable and convenient as possible.
